THERAPEUTIC USES.: -

Levosalbutamol is also known as levalbuterol (generic name) is a β2 adrenergic receptor agonist comes under category of Asthma.It is a prescription drug which is sold under the brand name- Xopenex(Trade name). Healthcare specialist may use the trade name when prescriber referring to the generic drug name. It is used for the treatment or prevention of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (also known as chronic obstructive lung disease) and bronchospasm in adults. It is available in Inhalation Solution(Transpule), Inhalation Aerosol, syrup and Rota capsule for inhale.

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE.:-

 Take Levosalbutamol(levalbuterol) exactly as prescribed by the doctor.

 Do not take this medicine in a smaller or larger amount or for longer than recommended.

 The dosage of the drug depends on the weight, age, height or medical condition of the patient and depend on many factors, then your prescriber will determine your dose schedule.

 

What if you miss a dose Levosalbutamol(levalbuterol).:-

Levosalbutamol(levalbuterol) activates β2 adrenergic receptors on smooth muscle, hence increase in intracellular concentration of cyclic AMP which leads to inhibits the phosphorylation of myosin resulting in muscle relaxation. It loosen the smooth muscles of all airways (From the trachea to the terminal bronchioles).

 

Levosalbutamol(levalbuterol) side effects.:-

Levosalbutamol(levalbuterol) may cause some side effects; however, you should always tell your health care specialist if you experience any unusual symptoms.

 

 Vomiting, Diarrhoea
