THERAPEUTIC USES.: -
FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE (generic name) is long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). It is a prescription drug which is sold under the brand name- SYMBICORT (Trade name). Healthcare specialist may use the trade name when prescriber referring to the generic drug name. It is used for the treatment or prevention of asthma and also help in control breathing problems caused by asthma, other types of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and emphysema.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION.: -
If you are consuming grapefruit, please consult to your doctor otherwise avoid intake of grape fruit or juices.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE.:-
Ø Take FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
Ø Do not take this medicine in a smaller or larger amount or for longer than recommended.
Ø The dosage of the drug depends on the weight, age, height or medical condition of the patient and depend on many factors, then your prescriber will determine your dose schedule.
What if you miss a dose FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE.:-
If you miss or forget a dose of FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE, take it as soon as possible, if it almost time for your next schedule. Skip the forgotten dose and go back to your normal schedule. Don’t take a double dose to make up for forgotten or missed dose.
How FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE works.:-
BUDESONIDE is a corticosteroid that exhibits potent glucocorticoid activity and higher anti-inflammatory response, these responses may contribute to their efficacy in COPD and asthma. FORMOTEROL is a LABA(Long-acting selective beta2-adrenergic agonist )medicine. It catalyzes the conversion of ATP to cyclic AMP, it causes relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle and inhibition of all mediators which is responsible for inflammation, especially from mast cells.
FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE side effects.:-
FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE may cause some side effects; however, you should always tell your health care specialist if you experience any unusual symptoms.
Ø Vomiting, Diarrhoea
Ø Sinus, nose, or throat inflammation
Ø Back pain
Ø Yeast infection, or thrush
Ø Muscle cramps and tremors
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
Before taking FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE to talk to your doctor, if you have or had any of the following conditions.:-
Ø Liver(Hepatotoxicity), Kidney, or heart disease.
Ø Chest pain.
Ø A heart attack.
Ø Have a tuberculosis infection.
Ø Have a herpes infection in your eye.
Ø Have glaucoma.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING.:-
Let your doctor know before taking this medicine, if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant and if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Let your doctor know if you ever had any kind of kidney diseases.
Let your doctor know if you ever had any kind of liver(Hepatotoxicity) diseases.
Please consult your doctor if you are consuming alcohol. It is good to avoid alcohol while using FORMOTEROL+BUDESONIDE(Symbicort) medication.
