Eletriptan hydrobromide is a medication used to treat headaches. It narrows the brain blood vessels and reduces the instances of headaches by reducing triggers like - pain, migraines, and light sensitivity.  Due to this reason, it is an effective treatment against migraine triggers. 

Directions

The medication should not be used for managing common headaches like tension headaches, etc. Use this medication only if it is prescribed by your doctor or physician. The dosage should not be repeated for 24 hours since the elapse of the other headache medicine use.

Dosage

Eletriptan hydrobromide is used as needed to help the patients suffering from a headache.

  • In case of severe migraine, a dose of 20 -40 mg per single dose is recommended. 

  • Yet, a repeat dose may be given after 2 hours if the problem doesn’t improve. 

  • However, the maximum dose should not be more than 80 mg per day. 

Cautions

 It is desirable to avoid this medicine if you have any of the following issues- 

  • Arrhythmia

  • Angina

  • Taking antihistamines

  • Allergic to the prescription

  • Are pregnant or wish to have a child

  • Are lactating a baby
