Elidel Cream


Drug (Salt) Name : Pimecrolimus topical (pi-MEK-roe-LYE-mus-TOP-ik-al)

Elidel Cream is for the treatment of eczema (atopic dermatitis). It works by suppress the function of some immune cells which cause skin inflammatory (redness and swelling). This alleviates itching and makes atopic dermatitis itchy hives healthier.


The Elidel Cream is being used for exterior use. It should be used on the infected area 2-4 periods a day, or used as recommended by only the practitioner. It should be drawn onto the skin gradually and uniformly before it is rubbed in. You shouldn't use it too much and shouldn't have a gauze or plaster to cover the treatment region. If there is no change including after two weeks of treatment, you need to visit your doctor.


Different individuals suffer various side effects. It depends on several variables that may be attributed to the environment, patient-related, age-related or medication-related, as each medication has many side effects with it.
