CHEMICAL NAME Coveram Tablet - Perindopril Amlodipine (Per-in-do-pril and Am-load-i-peen)

Coveram Tablet (Perindopril Amlodipine) is a substitution therapy used for treatment of hypertension and stable coronary artery disease. Hence, the same reduces the chances of stroke and heart attack. The same is further used to treat high blood pressure or hypertension. 

Coveram Tablets are a combination of two drugs - Amlodipine; which is a calcium channel blocker

and Perindopril; which is an ACE inhibitor.  It is an effective alternative to usual therapy and works by relaxing the blood vessels and allow blood to flow more freely. 

Common side effects of Coveram Tablet include - swelling of legs and feet, headache, dizziness, rash, nausea, diarrhea, cough, etc. 

However, much serious side effects may include -

Liver issues

Loss of appetite,


Abdominal pain

Dark urine

Non stop vomiting

Hives or rash

Answer - Absolutely not. Grapefruit negatively impacts the liver breakdown of Amlodipine medication. This causes a spike of the drug in the blood stream and in turn bring serious problems.
