THERAPEUTIC USES.: -

Carvedilol (generic name) is beta blocker. It is a prescription drug which is sold under the brand name- Coreg (Trade name). Healthcare specialist may use the trade name when prescriber referring to the generic drug name. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It is available in a tablet for oral use.

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE.:-

Ø Take Carvedilol exactly as prescribed by the doctor.

Ø Do not take this medicine in a smaller or larger amount or for longer than recommended.

Ø The dosage of the drug depends on the weight, age, height or medical condition of the patient and depend on many factors, then your prescriber will determine your dose schedule.

 

What if you miss a dose Carvedilol.:-

If you miss or forget a dose of Carvedilol, take it as soon as possible, if it almost time for your next schedule. Skip the forgotten dose and go back to your normal schedule. Don’t take a double dose to make up for forgotten or missed dose.

 

How Carvedilol works.:-

It blocks the action of natural substance in your body such as epinephrine on heart or blood vessels, resulting in it lowers the blood pressure and heart rate.

                   

Carvedilol side effects.:-

Carvedilol may cause some side effects; however, you should always tell your health care specialist if you experience any unusual symptoms.

 

Ø Vomiting, Diarrhoea

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

Before taking Carvedilol to talk to your doctor, if you have or had any of the following conditions.:-

 

Ø  Liver(Hepatotoxicity), Kidney, or heart disease

Ø  Congestive heart failure

Ø  A condition called pheochromocytoma

 

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING.:-

Let your doctor know before taking this medicine, if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant and if you are breast-feeding a baby.

 

Kidney.:-

Let your doctor know if you ever had any kind of kidney diseases.

 

Liver.:-  

Let your doctor know if you ever had any kind of liver(Hepatotoxicity) diseases.

 

Alcohol.:-  

Please consult your doctor if you are consuming alcohol. It is good to avoid alcohol while using Carvedilol medication.

 

Interactions with this medication.:-

Drugs that may interact with Carvedilol include.:-

 

Ø  Calcium channel blockers, such as verapamil and Diltiazem.
